2010 Charitable Donation

 

 The Waterbury Area Mothers of Multiples Club was happy to meet a M.O.M. at UConn Medical in Farmington.  Laurie was already a proud parent of twin girls when she was given another happy surprise, she became pregnant with twins - again!  Laurie delivered her second set of twin girls one year and one day after the birth of her first set of twins!  The girls were born at 29 weeks.  Twin A weighed 2 pounds 3 ounces and Twin B weighed 2 pounds 7 ounces.  Though the twins are still in NICU, Laurie and husband Jake, hope to bring home their second set of babies soon.



Our generous club members donated several cases of diapers, baby wipes and clothes for both sets of twins; creams and soaps; and a few toys and other things too.  From charity events such as the annual Vendor Night, the Poinsettia Fundraiser and the TGI Fridays Night, our club members collected a generous amount of money which we used to purchase gift cards to Wal-Mart, Stop & Shop, VISA and Diapers.com worth over $500. 



Thank you to everyone who participated in our fundraising efforts and donated their time and money so selflessly.

In the Fall of 2009, the Waterbury Area Mothers of Multiples Club donated six new "M.O.M" baskets to the birthing center at Saint Mary’s Hospital.  Baskets will be presented to mothers of twins or triplets (or more!) who have been born at Saint Mary's! 

The new M.O.M.s and the staff at Saint Mary's have been so thankful and appreciative of the baskets, we have  decided to donate baskets for the new M.O.M.s in the future as well!
