2008-2009 Charitable Donation

Vickie Moussaid’s seven year old triplet son, Amine has been battling brain tumors since 2004. Vickie travels to Boston several times a week to be with him, leaving behind Amine's brother, Nihale and sister, Yassine, as well as 2 older siblings.* 

The Waterbury MOMC held a special “Vendor Night” to help raise money for the Moussaid family.  With eight vendors and a small crowd of patrons, we are proud to have collected $368 from our generous vendors and guests.  As a club, we were able to  match the amount collected as well as donate a bit more to give Vickie $800 to help with the holidays. 

The night of our event, Vickie explained that Amine's radiation treatments were canceled suddenly because he had to have emergency surgery.  However, she ensured he was recovering well and in good spirits.   Although he will not be able to go back to school this year, due to the high of risk of infection, he does have a tutor at home and is also learning Braille to help with his lack of peripheral vision.
