Waterbury Area Mothers of Multiples.
P.O. Box 116 Oakville, CT 06779.

My name is Julie and I am 39 years old, married to my wonderful husband, Lee, for 16 years. I have 13 year old fraternal twin girls, and a 10 year old son. I have been a member of twins club since 1998 (specifically the Waterbury club since 2007).
My twins were born at 24 1/2 weeks weighing approximately 1.5 lbs. Today they are happy, healthy, soon to be teenagers, that you would never know were born that early. I like to spend time with my family letterboxing, scrapbooking, reading, and playing WoW with my husband. I am currently the President of the Waterbury Aream MOMC as well as President of the CT Mothers of Twins Association. In addition to my presidential duties, I am also the Newsletter Editor for the Waterbury club.
I'm Marcy, and I've been a member and the Treasurer of the Waterbury
Area Mothers of Multiples Club since 2007. In 2009 I took on a new role as the club's WebMaster. In the past, I've held the position of the Newsletter Editor. In addition to my Waterbury MOM duties, I was elected the Vice Presient for the CT Mothers of Twins Association for the 2010-2011 club year.
I first joined Waterbury MOMC in the hopes of finding other M.O.M.s who could understand and relate to my situation, but I found much more than that. I found some great friends to learn from and share with.
Through fundraisers and other charity, we help change lives of fellow M.O.M's who might be having a difficult time. Though every situation is unique, we understand that having more than one baby to care for can be even more stressful. And we hope our donations and assistance will help ease those challenges. I am extrememely proud to be a part of that.

Hi, my name is Jackie. I am the Vice President for the second year running. Prior to that, I had been the president for the two years preceding that. I have fraternal twin girls who are five years old. I joined the club when the girls were 6 months, but had wished I had joined while I was pregnant. I had so many questions running through my mind while pregnant that never seemed to get answered because I didn't know anyone who had twins. My prenatal classes didn't really cover what was going to happen either as they more focused on singleton pregnancies. ( I always got a little tap in class saying "oh well this will be totally different for you!") This left me with a feeling of being overwhelmed and very alone.
The Waterbury MOMC gave me support and the opportunity to meet new M.O.M.s that were also feeling overwhelmed. Being new to this area all my friends were at least 45 minutes away, and having preemie newborn twins you don't exactly have a lot of time on your hands to travel. After being with the club for a few months I got involved slowly with publicity and membership and within a two years of the club became co- president. I enjoy the friendships and the friendships my children have made as well as giving back to the community and helping other multiple families in need. Not only has the club has been support for me, but my twin girls as well. They enjoy meeting others that are "multiples", it has made them feel very "special" to be a multiple and we feel truly blessed.
